What Wikipedia says

A meniscus (pl.: menisci or meniscuses) is a crescent-shaped fibrocartilaginous anatomical structure that, in contrast to an articular disc, only partly divides a joint cavity. In humans, menisci are present in the knee, wrist, acromioclavicular, sternoclavicular, and temporomandibular joints.
