In Homer's Odyssey, Argos (; Ancient Greek: Ἄργος), sometimes referred to as Argus, is Odysseus's faithful dog. Bred to be a hunting dog before Odysseus leaves for the Trojan War, Argos is neglected after Odysseus is presumed dead.
