In Greek mythology, Pirene or Peirene (Ancient Greek: Πειρήνη, romanized: Peirēnē, lit. 'of the osiers' or 'made of wicker/ willow-twigs'), a nymph, was either the daughter of the river god Asopus, Laconian king Oebalus, or the river god Achelous, in different sources.
