Sir Herbert Baker , Hon. DArch. Hon DCL (9 June 1862 – 4 February 1946) was an English architect remembered as the dominant force in South African architecture, developing a Neo-Classical style which interacted theatrically with the landscape, and which projected Imperial strength and permanence.
