The Ziyarid dynasty (Persian: زیاریان, romanized: Ziyāriyān) was an Iranian dynasty of Gilaki origin that ruled Tabaristan from 931 to 1090 during the Iranian Intermezzo period. The empire rose to prominence during the leadership of Mardavij.
