The Amhara Region (Amharic: አምሐራ ክልል, romanized: Āmḥara Kilil), officially the Amhara National Regional State (Amharic: የአምሐራ ብሔራዊ ክልላዊ መንግሥት, romanized: yä-Amḥara Bəḥerawi Kəlləlawi Mängəst), is a regional state in northern Ethiopia and the homeland of the Amhara, Awi, Argobba, and Qemant people.
