What Wikipedia says
Caria (; from Greek: Καρία, Karia; Turkish: Karya) was a region of western Anatolia extending along the coast from mid-Ionia (Mycale) south to Lycia and east to Phrygia. The Carians spoke Carian, a native Anatolian language closely related to Luwian.
