Blanes (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈblanəs], Spanish: [ˈblanes]) is a town and municipality in the comarca of Selva in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. During Roman rule it was named Blanda or Blandae. It is known as the "Gateway to the Costa Brava".
